Abstract:
Abstract The effects of endophyte infection on the activities of SOD, POD and CAT, as well as on MDA contents in Lolium perenne under drought stress and osmotic stress were studied. The activities of SOD and POD of endophyteinfected (EI) plants were higher than those of endophyte- free (EF) plants when there was no stress. Under osmotic stress in greenhouse, with increasing of stress duration and intensity, the activity of SOD in EI plants was higher than that in EF plants, and MDA contents in EI plants was lower than that in EF plants. The advantage of EI plants over EF plants, however, was not obvious under drought stress in the field. Fig 2, Tab 2, Ref 23
