Abstract:
In order to explore the effect of soil acidification on apple trees, this paper aimed to detect soil acidification situation of five main apple growing producing areas of Jiaodong area. Five main apple producing areas with similar latitude in Jiaodong area of Shandong Province were selected. Five Fuji orchards with identical growth status were selected according to geographical distance. Soil pH values of different soil layers (0-15 cm, 15-30 cm) and different distances (0.5 m, 1.5 m, 1.5 m) from the main trunk of f ruit trees were compared to determine the soil acidification status of new shoots, leaves and fruits in different producing areas. The results showed that the orchards in each producing area were all acidic soils, and the total pH ranged from 4.92 to 6.20. Soil pH ranges of different soil layers in orchards of different producing areas were 5.08-6.30 and 4.75-6.10, respectively. Soil pH ranges of different distances from orchards to main trunk of fruit trees in different producing areas were 5.33-6.33, 4.84-6.14 and 5.29-5.99, and the lowest in Qixia city. The results of growth measurement showed that the SPAD value, the length of new shoots and the diameter of new shoots were 53.05-57.29, 26.72-35.82 cm and 4.76-5.93 cm respectively, and the values of each index were the lowest in Qixia city. The results of fruit quality test showed that the single fruit quality, soluble solids, soluble sugar content and anthocyanin content in orchards from different producing areas had significant differences, and the lowest in Qixia city. Four kinds of aromatic substances with higher fruit content in each orchard were selected. The contents of esters, alcohols, alkanes and aldehydes from high to low were th e lowest in Qixia City, Muping District, Zhaoyuan City and Laizhou City, respectively. The results of correlation analysis showed that SPAD value and soluble sugar content were positively correlated with soil pH value, while shoot length, soluble solids and esters were positively correlated with soil pH value. The results showed that soil acidification was serious in Jiaodong area of Shandong Province, especially in Qixia city. Soil acidification would affect the growth and development of fruit trees and the formation of fruit quality.
