Abstract:
Pentachlorophenol (PCP) degradetive activity by anaerobic granular sludge taken from anaerobic bioreactor for treating organic wastewater containing PCP Was studied under bacth cultures. The results showed that the granular sludge liken from the lower level in the reactor exhibited the highest degradative activity for PCP and specific PCP degrndative rate was affected by sludge concentration. The observedkinetics of PCP degradation was followed by the first-cider reaction. The supplemental carbon sources, especially butyrate and glucose could considerably enhance PCP degradation, and PCP concentrations and supplemental carbon sources would all affect PCP desradative rate.
