Abstract:
Radiation components, photosynthesis, respiration, primary productivity, biomass, caloric value and energy utilization efficiency were measured over a coniferous mixed forest (Pinus massoniana and P. elliotii)in Heshan, Guangdong, China. The results indicated: 1. The amount of gross solar radiation reaching canopy layer was 4235.9MJ·m-2·a-1,the radtation energy reaching forest land throush the canopy was 1792.2MJ·m-2·a-1, the renected radiation was 567.6MJ·m-2·a-1,only 1876.1MJ·m-2·a-1 was intercepted by the canopy; 2. The standing crop enersy and net enersy production of the artificial forest were 132.0MJ·m-2·a-1 and 11.8MJ·m-2·a-1, respectively. Energy distribution varied with plant species and organs, 57.8% was found in trunk, 8.5% in root, 14.9% in leaf and only 18.8% in branch; 3. The amount of photosythesis was 40.10MJ·m-2·a-1,of which only 13.66MJ·m-2·a-1 was used in net primary productivity. The solar radiation utilhation efficiency was 0.32%; 4. The canopy structure,net primary productivity and radistion energy absorptance of the seven year old leguminous lorest at the same station were better(or higher)than those of the coniferous mixed forest. It is suggested that the coniferous mixed forest would be transformed into a coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest.
